Frequently Asked Questions
What types of filament can AnkerMake M5 support?
AnkerMake M5 supports PLA, PETG, TPU, and ABS filaments. The heatbed temperature can reach up to 100°C / 212°F, and the nozzle temperature can reach up to 260°C / 500°F.
Can I use other filaments for my AnkerMake M5?
It is highly recommended to use PLA+ materials from AnkerMake, but M5 is compatible with most PLA 3D printing materials. Print results may be slightly different depending on the material you use.
Can AnkerMake M5 print carbon fiber and nylon?
Yes, you need to use a hardened steel nozzle and an all-metal throat part.
Are PLA+ filament printed products safe for food applications?
PLA+ is in compliance with RoHS Directives 2011/65/EU and (EU) 2015/863 and REACH regulation, which means it does not contain toxic or harmful substances. However, the printed PLA+ products might have horizontal lamination. Bacteria are prone to grow on horizontal lamination. We don't recommend to use printed products for food applications.
How do I store the filaments properly?
Unopened filaments are recommended to be stored in a clean, dark, and ventilated place with an ambient temperature lower than 50°C / 122°F and a humidity level lower than 30%. Opened and unused filaments are recommended to be stored in vacuum bags or special drying boxes. If your unused filaments have been left in the open for a long period of time, we highly recommend you to dry the filaments before using them to print.
